Dear all I want to use this medium to call on all partners in the state to adhere to strict infection prevention and control measures in our hospitals and the fields. This is due to the ongoing outbreak of Lassa fever. A patient by name (MR GABRIEL) was diagnosed with lassa fever in FMC YOLA and presently about 17 DOCTORS AND NURSES are presently under QUARANTINE due to contact with the patient,also about 43people are at risk of the disease due to contact with the patient before his demise his mother was also diagnosed with the disease and presently under ISOLATION IN FMC YOLA ,WHO have taken responsibilities of his burial and CORPSE at the moment. An emergency operation center has been set up to respond appropriately to the outbreak. I will provide contacts of disease surveillance and notification officers in LGA s and the state epidemiologist. Please remember you have to stay safe to serve.
